"Chamber Music INSANITY"
Most
fine music teachers will agree that nothing inspires
students more than playing
in
chamber music ensembles with others.
The
sense of camaraderie and fun, the challenges,
and ultimately coming together with a
combined goal
in which each musician is individually responsible,
and yet part of the whole,
is like nothing else in music.
This Malibu Friends of Music 9-session course, is designed
to give students a chance to play in smaller groups
with their
peers, where each is responsible for the learning and
ultimate
execution of their own individual part.
Students who enroll will be matched with
others of their level and approximate age
and assigned a coach.
The schedule for the 9 sessions will be arranged with each
ensemble and their primary coach.
Chamber Music INSANITY is open to all students who are
current or past members of the
Malibu Coast Youth Symphony program,
AND to other students interested in this exceptional experience.
A simple and fun evaluation will be required of new students
so that we
can find the right ensemble for you!
Tuition for this course is $35/session for the 9 session course. The 9th session will serve as a concert in which the students will portray a
witty analysis of the work they have been studying, and
present an exciting performance of that work!

Tuition includes a 75 minute coaching per session with one of
our master teachers. Coaches will be assigned to each group,
and may rotate among the groups, depending on the
personal needs of each ensemble.
